Snacking, those in-between meals that have a tendency to have us reaching from something tasty, sweet and delicious. But is this one habit the thing that’s stopping you in your weight loss tracks?

It certainly was for me.

I have a very sweet tooth and chocolate, sweets and all that goodness is my go-to in the afternoons when I just need a little pick me up. But I know fine well, that this one habit is getting in the way of reaching my own health goals.

So just two weeks ago I decided that I was going to work on breaking the cycle of my snacking habit.

It’s not been a 100% perfect, but just by being a little more intentional with this one thing, I have shed 5lb without too much effort.

Now snacking isn’t inherently ‘bad’ especially if what you are snacking on is nourishing your body and helping you to manage your hunger, energy and cravings.

Afternoon, evening or even mid-morning snacking is often habitual but also can be due to unconscious emotional triggers, and it’s these that we get to put some awareness on.

I do want to start by saying don’t make yourself bad or wrong for this. It’s really common to turn to food to pacify or soothe…
