There Is No Finish Line
Sitting just a mere 5 days away from the years Spartan Beast, I am revelling in the good feelings that can come as a result of a little more focused training.
I’m feeling fitter and stronger than I have in quite some time.
And whilst my bodyweight hasn’t changed all that much I am feeling more toned and defined, my clothes are just fitting that much better.
Regardless of what I look like, I’m feeling pretty darn good.
I’m incredibly excited for this Saturday's race, where for the first time I will be running with a team.
I have done team Spartans in the past, but never over the duration of a Beast (21km).
My usual runs are a battle of me and the race, the sounds in my own head and the constant repetition and mental chatter as I encourage myself to just keep putting one foot in front of the other.
When my legs are burning and lungs are screaming as though they can’t take any more, we just keep going.
This year I’m going to have actual teammates to talk to, to share that mental chatter, to help share burpees, to help each other over obstacles and to just not…
