I love the body positivity movement, we have turned a huge corner in celebrating all body shapes and sizes. Celebrating real women's bodies with wrinkles, fat rolls, stretch marks and cellulite as opposed to filtered, smoothed and Instagram perfected images we see on peoples highlight reels.

I believe all bodies are beautiful, incredible creations and that the way in which your body looks (or weighs) does not define your worth.

As a woman who has struggled with the way that I look most of my adult life, as a health coach who doesn’t have a washboard stomach, I am totally behind this movement and yet I feel that the scale has started to tip too far in the other direction.

We have now got to the place where we are demonising weight loss. Women are made to feel bad for wanting to improve their health and lose weight, it’s like we are not allowed to talk about losing weight anymore.

An article in Cosmopolitan which I came across when researching for my recent article reviewing the diet app Noom, the author states that “it makes me deeply uncomfortable to admit that I also feel a rush of confidence when I can fit into those jeans’.

Why would feeling good in your clothes make you uncomfortable to admit? Because once again we are now…
