I agree with you that the mechanics of weight loss are easy. Eat less crap and move more, simple in methodology. And yet so many people do find it so hard and the reason that health and fitness is a multi billion dollar industry.

Modern day living makes it difficult to follow through and I believe stress being the number one factor that makes it so hard for the average person.

For it to be lasting we do need to keep it simple and focus on stress reduction as a priority.
