Great myth busting article. I blame Les Mills for the whole knnes over toes BS, something that harped on about a lot during my instructor training.

The knees go over the toes as a functional pattern of human movement, every time you walk down hill or down the stairs. It makes sense to train them to be strong in that range of movement.
