An Open Letter To My Comfort Zone
It’s Time I Moved Out
Oh comfort zones, the place where you feel as though you are cruising along, maybe you feel like everything is fine and dandy.
Right until you get to the point where it’s not!
I know that the pandemic has added so much stress and pressure on us all. And you know what, during these times a comfort zone has been a really solid coping strategy, it’s probably what has kept many of us sane.
Certainly do NOT give yourself a hard time if the comfort zone is exactly what you needed.
I feel like it’s been exactly what I needed with my body as I have been pulled in so many other directions with all the challenges that living in a foreign country brings, heck just that living life through a pandemic brings.
These last few years my body has steadily gained weight due to stress and lifestyle factors and I was ok with that, I embraced it. I tuned in and learnt more about what my previous dieting habits had taught me the good, the bad and the downright toxic. It highlighted the dieting practices that I know I never want to go back to.
I actually feel like I have the opposite of body dysmorphia (though I’m pretty sure body dysmorphia works in both directions) I look in the mirror and think, damn you are looking hot girl, you are…
